Evaluation: Question 2

How does your media product represent particular social groups?
I think this image on my front cover of my music magazine bears some simularities to the picture of David Guetta on the front cover of Mixmag. The reasons in which I think the two pictures share simularities is firstly because of the two peoples facial expressions. They are both grinning at the camera and looking directly at it, also both of the people's posture is showing off to the camera and wanting the readers attention, they both give off a kind of cocky feeling.
Another simularity is the camera angle and shot, in both pictures the person is looking directly at the camera and the camera is slightly below eye level, also in both pictures the camera is straight infront of them and the shot is a Medium Close Up.
When it comes to clothing David Guetta is a male and Sophia is a female so obviously their clothing style isnt going to be exact, this is where gender takes effect, but there are simularities. They are both DJ's which I think is important and they are both featuring in a simular style of magazine aimed at a simular target audience (17-30). David Guetta is wearing sunglasses with a T-shirt saying 'We like electro' on and Sophia is wearing a retro adidas jacket with Wesc headphones around her neck with also a range of necklaces. David Guetta's look definately suggests that he is based abroad in sunny countries like Spain or the Netherlands and Sophia has more of a English style. But I think by looking at the two pictures someone could tell that these people are DJ's or have a simular style.
Differences
The miximag cover the backround is different to the backround of the picture of Sophia, the miximag backround looks like it is wooden and the colour is brown. Wheras the backround of the picture of Sophia is plain and white. The backround and lighting used in the picture of David Guetta is brown and gives the picture a warm feeling which once again suggests that his music is based in hot places such as Ibiza or Magalouf, which are popular holiday destinations for party goers. The other difference I spotted between the two pictures is the gesture or the two people. David Guetta has his two hands reached out infront of him reaching out to the audience wheras Sophia has her hands in her pockets looking for a more 'cool' look.
