Analysis of two feature articles

Analysis of first feature article

This feature article is aboout the band 'The teenagers,' the main picture is of the band sitting on a sofa lazing about and relaxing which is what teenagers are known for, there are also pictures of half naked women on posters behind them. The main colours used on this double paged spread are black and blue. Taking into account the posters in the backround and the colour scheme I would definately say that this double paged spread is aimed mainly at a male audience.

Analysis of second feature article

This feature article is about the female musician 'Pink' the picture on the left side is of her with crashed cars in the backround. This picture shows her sexual apect by the way she is dressed and how she is crawling on her knees, but also an aggressive look in her facial expression and her hand gesture. This picture also suggests that her readers or target audience are rebellious (probably teenagers), we can tell she is rebellious by the accessories she is wearing such as her arm band with spikes coming out and also the neckband she is wearing which has large spikes coming out. This suggests that she is a dangerous woman which links with the title of the article 'Bad girl for life' and also the crahed vehicle in the backround. The picture and the backround in which the text is written on, on the right side of the page suggest a very urban/punk style. The colours black and pink are used mainly throughout.
